The lengths of the books are great because Terry can fit so much into it. The characters are all great and I eventually stop thinking of people as alien and more as another character to interact with. Maybe that's a negative for some people, not having alien attributes shoved in your face, but I think the story is what matters. I love how honest but pragmatic our characters are. I HATE when a main character is self defeating by being too noble or honest or goes against everyone's advice. ( Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2021 )

And then there are the Backyard Starship Books. The type of thing that normally makes a story unbelievable, in this case surprisingly makes it more enjoyable as one becomes part of observing the ironic humor via a smooth third party point of view. Suspension of belief? forget that, it flies out the window as you are dragged into an overarching perspective of the events that is usually thoughtful and often laugh out loud hilarious. Loved this book as much as the first in the series. I highly recommend this series. That's the only problem I see with your books is I have to wait so long. But I do enjoy the the humor, intrigue and the mystery. And there is always the hope that you bring to the books. All of these things are important. I know that the humor helped me out not too long ago. Just missing someone I've lost. But you brightened my day. Some of the interplayThere I some wonderful world building her will have your significant rather wondering why you're laughing out lous...at 2:30 am. Decent character development for the new players, some continued development for existing characters, and a successfully connected plot kept the book moving forward.
