I could not help but be instantly charmed by Violet and Walter, and it was so wonderful to be back with Millie and Franklin at the Inn. This can totally be read as a standalone story, but I do hope author Ashley Clark continues to incorporate all the wonderful characters and more from her Heirloom Secrets series in more stories! I fell in love with Millie in Ashley Clark’s The Dress Shop on King Street (one of my favorite reads in 2021) so I was really pleased to hear a little more of her story. Christmas at the Inn is beautifully descriptive without being overly wordy and introduces more likable characters in a storyline that drew my interest from the first page. I first fell in love with her story The Dress Shop on King Street so when I saw there was a Christmas novella which features an inn & some beloved characters from that novel, I quickly bought this. I was NOT disappointed. If you love vintage romance set in the 1950's south, you are going to want to read this book. It's charmingly written. And her characters are so sweet. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kindle Customer -- Short and sweet... : ...is hard to beat! Violet and Walter are thrown together first to convince his parents they are engaged, and the following week to convince her parents she has a boyfriend. You know the drill--they fall in love and are soon married. Getting there is a sweet story not to be missed. My first read of Ashley Clark, but I plan to follow up with this series (this is a prequel). I had to adjust to first person, present tense, but it soon became a non-entity.
